Q: What are stabilized rod handle and reel seat blanks?
A. Stabilized rod handle and reel seat blanks have been treated using a high pressure system that forces liquid acrylic resins throughout the entire blank. The blanks are then heat cured and dried during the final finishing process. There are many advantages to using stabilized wood. Stabilized wood resists cracking, checking, swelling, shrinking, color change & fading. It is impervious to water, oils and weather. Stabilized wood machines beautifully, sands without raising the grain of the wood, and polishes to a high luster.
